Community involvement
Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.
Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)
The role of the P&C is to provide feedback and advice on school policies and activities, assist in providing resources to enhance the school and are involved in a variety of school activities.
The P&C also manages the canteen, uniform shop and band program with the help of some paid staff and many volunteers.
The operations of the P&C are managed by an Executive committee.

P&C Membership
P&C membership is open to all parents and guardians of students attending the school and to all citizens within the school community. Membership costs just $1 joining fee plus a $2 annual membership fee. You can attend P&C meetings without becoming a member. However, only members have the opportunity to vote on decisions.
P&C Meetings
The P&C officially meet once a term. Meeting details are published in the School Bytes calendar and the meetings are hosted on Zoom in addition to in person
Class Parents
The P&C relies on the support of class parents to help communicate with the school community. It's a great way to get to know all the parents in your class and to help out with school community events. There can be 1-2 class parents per class who share responsibilities.
What does it involve?
- Organising rosters when the teacher needs parent help in class, e.g. reading groups
- Creating a friendship list of parent contact details
- Coordinating the class's allocated responsibilities for P&C events
- Arranging social events for parents and families in the class
- Welcoming new families to the class throughout the year
- Forward P&C messages to class friendship lists when required
Class Events include:
- Mother’s Day Stall
- Father’s Day Stall
- School disco
- Year 6 Formal
- Kindy Orientation
How can I volunteer to be a class parent?
At your class information night (held early in Term 1 each year) tell your class teacher that you are interested and they will pass on your details to our class parent coordinator. Alternatively, you can contact our class parent coordinator at BRPSParentCoord@gmail.com
Fundraising
The Fundraising Committee’s role is to raise funds for the P&C to be used to run community events and pay for school resources and project funding.
Some of the projects that have been fully or partially funded in the past include Cooinda (resource room), canteen upgrade, playground equipment, shade cover and outdoor lighting.
