Beaumont Road Public School Parents and Citizens' Association (BRPS P&C) has a series of documents that provide terms of reference for the way we work.
Our constitution underpins everything we do.
In March 2015, we agreed goals and objectives to underpin our role:
Why does the P&C exist – what is our role?
- Promote the interests of the school by bringing parents, community members, students and school staff together
- Assist with the provision of facilities and equipment for the school and in supporting the welfare of students at the school
- Provide parents and carers with the opportunity to participate in and contribute to the activities and development of the school
- Ensure it contributes to decisions at the school, including representation on selection panels for school staff
What is the P&C trying to achieve – what are our goals?
- The school campus offers students up-to-date learning environments, facilities and equipment
- Parents, community members and local businesses are keen to become involved in the programs and activities implemented by the school and the P&C
- The P&C raises additional funds to supplement the school's financial resources
- Our students enjoy access to a range of extra-curricular activities
- The P&C is effective at making good decisions that meet students' needs
What does the P&C do – what are our objectives?
- Operate the uniform shop and the canteen efficiently
- Communicate effectively with parents, community members, students, school staff and local businesses about our projects on the school campus
- Plan and implement fundraising activities to improve our school campus
- Manage our human resources and our physical and financial assets effectively
- Implement extra-curricular programs with leaders and tutors that meet the needs of students and parents
- Work closely with and support the school principal and school staff
